I would've thought the GREAT NT, is almost franchise material by all your pro propaganda !! Maybe they should share their business/development plans with FFA... just an idea, no nexus with any old NSL legacy

There isn't near enough support or money in the game at this stage to support any other league in this country. We should concentrate on the A-League and not worry about a second tier competition which will be filled with players who cannot break into higher leagues either here or overseas. The number of players in that second tier competition who would have the ability to play in the A-League would be very minimal. It's not a viable idea at this stage.
Look at the NRL. They can't even get a sustainable second division going and look at the support and backing they have. I believe that they are scrapping the whole second tier competition next year.

All side issues...the only thing that matters is expanding the number of people watching it on television from the current level of around 20% of registered players. If Tempe United can bring a greater number of television viewers to the game than Central Coast or Newcastle (now recognised along with Gold Coast and Townsville...and every other regional city as being too small an area to hold an A-League license) then they're in! wrong model to depend on, again with modern forms of viewing, again NBA example, such as NBA pass, who needs corporate (Head Office sponsorship), the clubs should be responsible for generating revenue, and not top down, whatever is provided to clubs by FFA/FNSW etc, will be a safety net, and to be used as a main source of revenue.....this is the problem with current AL franchise owners, they have no control over their own club operations, classic was Palmer handing back license when he could even "design own jersey" too conlove of my lifeed, again IMO Yes maybe not the ideal model but its the one we have. Theres more than a small difference between the US/NBA market and this outpost.

Theres more than a small difference between the US/NBA market and this outpost. Free to air TV is dying and once our pay tv competition ramps up, its all but gone. The new league can create own media channels with current technology, hence I use the NBA Pass model, the clubs/players own it, not broadcasters.. can work here

definitely agree can work here. The only catch is that hopefully they're not short sighted about it all and do something like charge $50 per month for access trying to recoup all costs in Yr1. It needs to be reliable and cheap to draw the viewers in. Once they have the viewers, then go all out on advertising to recover costs. Unfortunately, in way too many cases, the charges set for these kinds of things are way to high and therefore adoption is low.
Do something like 1 free access pass for all youth registrations in associated clubs. Get them in while they're young. Adoption will be high, hit the advertisers then for $$s

My comment wasn't aimed at you but since you always have the need to chime in with absolute dribble, lets here the Tarzan brilliant idea?

Which is scary when you think about it, as I am not convinced about the viability of that bid. How many people travel from "St George" to Wollongong now and vice versa, to watch St George Illawara in NRL? I can't imagine it's lots, but we expect people to do it for this entity. Of the NSL clubs, really only South Melbourne could properly have a crack at it I think. Pretty much every other team/place that might be a candidate would struggle to attract regular 5k crowds beyond the first novelty season. If Southern Expansion was a well-funded Wollongong or Canberra bid, they might be a chance, but the hotch potch being put forward will struggle.

Southern has no chance. Everyone in the shire already supports Syd FC. Who's going to leave supporting a top 3 team for the pleasure of travelling to the gong. No chance in hell that will ever happen. Just look at social media. Other than the backers promoting it for self interest, not 1 positive comment from fans. If they do get in. They'll be out within 3 years or rebrand to a gong only team.
And St George is the prefect example I'm a Dragons fan and have traveled to a game at the gong twice.
