Any feedback on sports high schools now that HAL clubs are aligned to some of these schools? Have a friend who is considering for his child... Of course education is critical..

Westfield HS definitely highly recommended. No issues with my son on/off the field but he puts a lot of work into football training and study.

Great. I'm hearing westfields has a very strong football program. I guess it's important to have a good balance between football and study.

The Bossley Park program is very good also. On the whole it is a very good school . When my son started in this program he was very low on confidence and self esteem (as a footballer) . But the influence of GS and NM has completely turned that around and he has become a better footballer since being their. Being cut at a trial no longer upsets him ,he walks out of every trial with his head held high and a smile on his face . Even recently when a pl1 td asked him to stay back after a trial making him think he was going to be signed only to tell him ( in short) that while he was a good player and technically very good he did not have the physique for mens football .. he came home spent the rest of the weekend processing and went straight back into trials this week. His attitude now is a direct result of being under the guidence and tutelage of these 2 coaches. So yes mate BPH is a very good program

The IFS (International Football School) is great. The schools is only about 4-yrs old. Their education philosophy and curriculum is fantastic. They adopt a project based learning approach and are very much aligned with the Finland education model. No school uniforms, no homework philosophy as well. Football program is good also www.internationalfootballschool.com/

I think Westfield have a pretty good resume of players who have gone on to have reasonably successful playing careers. Would they have been just as successful outside the school? who knows..........
If you choose any school for its sports program alone then you are there for completely the wrong reasons.
Each to their own but i believe that a healthy learning, life and sporting balance is what is most important in a school.
Finland's education model regularly puts them in the top 5 countries in the world for education. They don't grade kids, rank or compare kids, or hand out homework. It was the subject of a pretty interesting 60 minutes story just recently. Far better than the Public school cookie cutter one size fits all system kids are currently forced to participate within.

Fairly poor % in the Football department considering the thousands of students that have gone through over the years , I can still count with one hand on the hall of fame (lol) those that have made a living out of the game.

Nothing to do with Westfields. or Best and Less...Football and studies shouldn't mix... Has anyone told that to the Americans? Or the English for that matter?
