Agree, except the private schools "stuff", comparing Private Schools to private football academies is well....madness. For the record education is about developing well rounded human beings not ATARS or doctors. Mmmm so is sport! Tarzan, You've not heard of the 'league tables' in education...it is ALL about NAPLAN, ATAR etc. I know of at least one school who cull underachievers in order to optimise their formal achievements... selective high schools = HAL Clubs, scholarships = club will pay rego Schools cheered when they brought in a rule that when a student turns 17 they can be 'encouraged' to leave. Principals don't give a rodents bum if you produce a Nobel Peace Prize winner...they do care that their school has a high rate of attendance, sits highly above the state average etc etc etc... School = football why? Because it is a COMPETITION!

Has anything come out of this yet. Or its been put into the too hard basket.
Funny how are particular academy involved with the Sydney United U13's are struggling on the bigger pitch, there teaching methods only good for smaller sided fields (e.g. SAP ), watching them play, all I saw was 3 metre passing, mainly backwards and sideways not penetrating the final third. Then when in need of a win, the long balls started coming thick and fast, this academy speak highly of development, but all changed to a win at all costs mentality.
I think they should stick to academy training as NPL is not for them, they also failed at SD Raiders.

I concur with you on how they play, lots of passing and tiki taka football. From what i saw of them, they have very skillful players who are robots themselves. i.e. #2 and #5 are to quickly move ball to middle third but not allowed to run with it themselves (creating one dimensional positional players). The biggest issue they're having now is credibility. You are correct in stating the failed venture at SD raiders and now such a high profile club like Sydney United will not tolerate poor results if it continues. That club copped a lot of backlash bringing in those academy kids over their own SAP players. Personally one of those owners i can not stand in how he behaves in front of children. It's a shame parents let their kids be treated that way. the long ball approach is like a cockroach after a nuclear holocaust. You can try to kill it all you like but it always comes back and never dies..hahaha

Big fast kids with no skill will always win in u13s v tiki taka Tarzan I thought you had intelligence. Bring a under 13's team from Beligium with midgets that can play against fast, strong kids and you will eat humble pie. Futboltec kids are technically but, the coaches don't know how to progress it on the bigger field, like I said there good on SAP fields but struggle on the bigger pitch, example speed of passing, weighted passes, distance of passes and general football awarness Didn't United 13's draw with Rydelmere. It's all a rort and money making excercise, slowly parents are waking up.

I thought tone75's initial observation was exceedingly incorrect: "Tarzan I thought you had intelligence."
