Any ideas. I'm not having a go, I'm just curious as to what is the better way to go.

Need to make the AIS more appealing, eg; live in house not billeted, offer private schooling not the public system, just like it was when I went there . We cut costs and wonder why kids knock back going there and choose the Wanderers or Sydney FC instead .. How is that for a couple of thoughts .. Sap where are you??

One more thing, I wonder why only 2 or 3 players from this year`s under 17joeys team that featured in the world cup made the under 20s Aust team ?. Whats the point? Two players not good enough for the 17s picked straight into to the 20s .. Shambles ..

AIS is to be decentralised....there will be 15 of them around the country. Currently the pool of players at AIS is several thousand too small....hence only two in 20's.

Thailand world super power I wonder if they had just 18 kids in their AIS equivalent...doubt it. AIS format is laughable.

This is the problem. The perception is that we are improving because we pass the ball around wonderfully here and it all looks good. But I will say it again. It's rubbish. We have no concept of the game and our coach's although have a licence have no understanding. I have now watched 19 rounds of a combined youth system and can only say the level is lower than last year. dyslexics untie Whyme There are good coaches out there to develop our youth, but there not interested as there is no money in it for the headaches involved with clubs and parents. I agree with the licensing its a revenue stream for the FFA.

This is the problem when we solely rely on Ex players to coach our youth national teams with little or no experience coaching youth. I can tell you although this current squad is playing to the best of their capabilities they are not the top players in this age group.
Where are those 15-16yr old WSW and Sydney FC kids who I watch regularly play up in U20's or 1st grade and not good enough to be picked against kids their own age?
Something stinks in suburbia...

I agree WSW have some players at 15 and 16 that play in the NPL2 firsts and dominate, they are the best ive seen.

AIS coaches select AIS players otherwise if they pick others then they are saying that their program isn't working AND the funding dries up... Again, as has been said on another thread, Jessie J has had a lot to do with setting up the 'development' system in Australia because it's all about the money money money!
