Joeys team recently picked, can some one please explain to me how a certain player was found to be older than what it was stated last tear in Vietnam born 1998 apparently, now gets picked again in the Joeys and birthday appears as a 2000 baby. Only explanation is that he must be related to BENJAMIN BUTTEN ....

Not enough "cross training" with school rugby maybe.....but more likely to do with being "systemised" at too young an age - discovered at 12 and earmarked for greatness. Then at 16 a handful or two are placed in the artificial environment of Canberra.
Believe that just two players from the Socceroos Asian Cup winning team ever played for the Joeys as part of their progress to the top.

Joeys v Myanmar 1-1 Joeys v Vietnam 0 - 3 And that's off the back of losing 5-3 to Cooma Tigers.

Perhaps the FFA should start looking at players from parents who CAN'T afford SAP/PL??? Or maybe have a look at Iceland's system? Fifteen Centres of Excellence to be rolled out across the country over the next couple of years. A big improvement on just one that currently sits in Canberra.

Good performance again from another age group who have now also succeeded in failing to qualify. But this age group was before the sap/pdp program. Maybe next year or the one after.

How ever not sure if there is more than 3 P22 players in this group .. Hope they don't have to play any more super powers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the problem. The perception is that we are improving because we pass the ball around wonderfully here and it all looks good. But I will say it again. It's rubbish. We have no concept of the game and our coach's although have a licence have no understanding. I have now watched 19 rounds of a combined youth system and can only say the level is lower than last year.
