Are the keepers allowed to dive or at least attempt to save the ball at that level ? Is clapping by the keeper compulsory after conceding a goal ?

Having watched this age group in action since 11s, I am pretty confident when I say that if either of the two keepers selected are the best in the country, then we have more than enough problems just starting with that. Bottom line is they are okay, nothing more, nothing less and even within NSW there were better ones who missed out. The goals look terrible, as the father of a central defender, I am always keen to see where the midfield are in the lead up and it does appear they have gone missing, but irrespective, it looked a bit too easy.

EC it was 1v3 as a long ball was played forward & defensively we were very very poor actually for international players this is unacceptable

As a supporter/barracker of midfielders those defenders are to clearly to blame. 😁

Aren't third world keepers allowed to dive either ? When did Fifa bring in that law ?

Our AA8 keeper who weights nearly half a ton can dive ! Ok, he has trouble getting back up without our help but at least he dives !

Whyme, time to blame moi and the curriculum... No I don't blame the curriculum for Joeys its the selectors and Player identifiers that need an overhaul Tarzan. This is where you assume i blame the curriculum but infect the administration of curriculum by a Governing body with no coach who understands football and coaches with no experience in the game play teaching kids rubbish. This year i have watched many games and bar the better coaches the teams play a brand of football that doesn't teach anything bar the same rubbish. and that includes the A league clubs!!! Rubbish Don't forget i mentioned they lost 1-0 to a bunch of U16 players from NPL that were thrown together for a game and the Joeys had been training for 2 weeks.

I believe that the philosophy ,the culture basically the whole lot has to change. Selectors/coach every thing. The connection between Westfield Sports and the Joeys as well. HAS TO STOP... If we want to get better...

Where on earth did the best Australian u16 wide defender learn to deliberately position himself on the outside of the attacker when defending...as noted several times in the video?? Just one example of a much bigger problem...

Just one example of a much bigger problem... Is the poor lad a natural defender ?, is that is playing position ?. Or is he a midfielder being asked to fill in ?. Some coaches like picking 9 midfielders and moving them around . Back to P22 days ...
