Whats boring, because i asked on what basis you say its moving forward?
Mate if thats all you've got, no wonder we are where we are. Bury your head in the sand, make completely irrelevant responses ("boring" - FFS!) and don't address the question.
oh, here's a positive, we're ranked higher in world football than that European powerhouse, Albania!

Mercurial,
Our sport in this country ranks about 3rd or 4th in the media, maybe lower. Although more children play our sport in this country the sport is pushed to the bottom of the list in the footballing codes. If our youth can be world class performers in the other codes as well as other sports means we have the sporting talent in this country. The FFA is doing all it can in a very, very crowded market where every code is competing for the fans and money. Some people in the media criticise our game at the drop of a hat. It's been that way ever since I can remember but the game is much better of now than it was 10 or 15 years ago. The other codes are backed heavily by the media and sponsorships. Yes we have a way to go but I'll never believe we can't become a strong football nation in the future. If I have offended you, sorry but we are on the same side.

Despite the "noise" it is indesputable that our SAP age players, youth league players and our general style of play is waaaay superior to what it was even 5 years ago. Additionally the pool of players at this level has grown substantially.
Whether or not this will translate to better players at 21+ is an entirely different issue.

In my opinion it will. The talent is there.

Unfortuantely this the game of the people and has always been that way. FFA should be investing its $$$ back into grassroots and elite programs i.e rep sides to harness the talent and further develop our teams. The matildas seem to be functionining nicely where they've had minimal resources for years. So something is being done right in the womans game. time to get the Men's game to a proper level also.

Here we go. Well, the women have got less quality opposition than the men. You can't compare the quality between the two. The Matildas will win the World Cup before the Socceroos ever will. It's unfair to compare them though.
Now before anyone gets stroppy and tries to convince me that the two are equal, take a reality pill first. Tons of money can be put into the game but money doesn't buy quality. It may buy good but it can't buy real quality.
As far as the FFA putting more money into the grassroots, you may be right. I don't know anything about the financial set up at all.

My view is a simple one. We are judged on our results, and our results aren't there at the moment. Hence the view that I don't think we're going forward. And yes, very much aware that the current program has some way to go before our first crop of SAP players become adults, but the program didn't just start with SAP
I have no doubt about our ability to produce players, we have, and we will continue to do so. But that just makes our current performances all the more frustrating.
Its just my opinion, but to me, the current administrators of our game, remind me of that one guy we all know at work, who just cruises along, giving his 80% each day. And that's fine, except for the fact that everyone who is cruising at 80% is robbing you of someone being in that position who will give it 100%.
That, and the fact that everything is based around profitability above performance.

Well, you may be right. There definitely is a money factor in it. FIFA are a huge rort who cannot be trusted.
I still believe it's a hard task to run the game in this country which idolises the rugby codes. The media has got it out for football as well. Rugby league employees a huge amount of people here.

The left is founded upon everyone being a victim. Victims are separated into sub-victim groups. To even mention the groups on this site would breach 18c...because someone, somewhere might suffer emotional hurt. I digress...
