I think he meant 500k turnover for an academy, not 500k to the coach. Still need to pay for facilities, equipment and coaches out of that. 500k turnover is more than realistic if you offer U6 to U16 or so. I wouldn't imagine that too many of the coaches would have attended any FFA courses though.

noballsleft,
We'll undercut them by $50,000.00 and still make a good earn.

I have my C licence and found the course a positive one. If you're open to learning and not having the blinkers approach then any knowledge is good knowledge. I did find in my course that some of my peers had a closed mentality and were constantly critical, particularly around game planning? But these are the very same coaches who only coach for results in a SAP environment?? What i did find amusing was the practical element and some of my peers treating it like they were trialling for Man U. It's funny that the ex pros in my class were all on the sideline having a laugh.
I'm also accredited in other sports and found this to be one of the better ones. My only gripe is the price! In the uk you can do your c licence equivalent for a third of the price and also be UEFA qualified which holds more weight than FFA/AFC accreditation.
The biggest difference with academies is that its all isolated training, has its pros and cons. We need some regulation to do away with the cowboys but im afraid football in this country is hit n miss. My advice is if you find a coach that develops your son/daughter then stick with him/her.
Thats my 2 cents
