Never. The curriculum is working. The Curriculum had as much impact on the Olyroos as it did on NSW losing yet another League State of Origin series. The blame for losing is purely on Vidmar and Co. They didn't play football that resembled anything in the Curriculum unless my copy is missing the bit about ....Don't press high, concede possession at all opportunity and play a defensive game and look to counter attack aka "Adelaide under Vidmar". So the people in charge of the curriculum had a coach for 8 YEARS who didnt even play the way they were supposed to? Not a phone call to Viddy in 8 years? Would have loved to have seen Les Scheinflugs curriculum when we were making and proceeding through group stages at tournaments. Its all rubbish - too much paperwork and overthinking of how it should be done.....Everyone gets a red frog at half time and 2 at full time...YAY.

They all should be gone for not implementing the system. The Curriculum is a piece of paper it cant score goals or force players to play a particular way. Its a tad boring that every loss is followed by an outcry about the curriculum and accompanied by a rambling about "our kids dont want to win anymore" despite the curriculum noting that the basic aim is to win. No disrespect to Les (I had some involvement with him and his family when i was a kid) but....harping back to the days of amateur football is not a strong argument.

tarzan,
yes, let's blame the players for not wanting to win. That's my favourite.

So when i put my team on the field i should read the curriculum first.Never thought of that tactic. Its kind of hoped you've done that well before your team takes the field - as part of your coaching license since the people that wrote it are more highly qualified to comment on the topic than 99% of the ex-hackers going around

Maybe they should put it out on CD and you can listen to it instead of country & western music

Maybe they should put it out on CD and you can listen to it instead of country & western music Theory is done well before you get to that level. Furthermore, use what you know with what you've learnt from playing and coaching from others and mix it up with your own beliefs. Ask any footballer or coach that's played at any decent level and they will confirm this is the best way. Not be told you must play with 3 defenders or 2 holding midfielders etc because that's what the theory tells you. You dismiss the old coaches but no matter what you say they got results.

Where are the thousands upon thousands of people/coaches that made it to such a high level in their playing days? That's the exact reason we need a system. We don't want individuals relying solely upon their own wisdom. That same wisdom that failed them in their playing days. Did you not witness the 30/40 years of football oblivion that characterised Aussie football in the 1900s? Furthermore, theory ( as with the practical) is never finished with.....read widely and be educated!
