He develops players, let me assure you of that. Ive been around and coached . A very very good coach and communicator with kids. Coaching ain't just about knowing the game but how you deliver the message. He does both very we'll.

Does he take any old "Joe Blow", I think that was the implied question!

Having coached park football and YL for over 35 years I can say Rizzo Academy and also Red Devils Football Academy are the 2 standouts.

I think the Nick Rizzo Academy is very over rated. His Academy has become a bit of a cult in the inner west. He has a symbiotic relationship with certain clubs (mostly APIA). The observations of others below are true. Nick only takes kids who are already talented. Those who really need coaching don't get a look in. He then creates secretive sub groups for kids he considerers the elite. This creates much jealousy and jostling among parents who feel their kid is being left behind. The politics on the sidelines is brutal as parents are played off against each other. To be fair there is much good to be said about Nick. He is a nice guy. The sessions are structured (albeit extremely repetitive) and all the boys get get lots of time on the ball. My son certainly improved under Nick. The point really is, if you are looking for a bit of improvement, go to Nick. You will get it. If you are looking to shepherd little Johnny into the professional ranks, I would look elsewhere. The proof it there to all the see. Nick has been coaching thousands of kids (about 6-17) for about ten years. Can anyone name on student who has become a professional or is even in the frame to be a pro? I doubt it.

Nick is trying to help youth obtain quality coaching.
Instead of being rubbished and ridiculed he should be applauded for his efforts.
A knowledgeable man able to communicate that knowledge.
Well done Nick.

Well done Nick. So he is doing it for free like Dunbar? Applauded for his efforts and knowledge and making a great living out of all the knowledgeable parents who understand football is hours - the more you do the better you get but you can be overloaded - then you have to apply it! Many have gone backwards that also were great once! Very knowledgeable man and great guy! FACT: Why is it that any NPL player doing 3 nights per week within a club/team environment plus game on weekend (including 6-10 trial games) in what is suppose to be a 40 week programme with then the additional player pathway programmes and FNSW Fustal season completing a year round player development plan not developing a player? Is any academy really developing players at the so call academy where at best its 2 times a week (no regular games) compared to 3 nights plus game plus a full futsal season?? - Yes all academies are usually sublimating the time lost where clubs are not doing 3 nights or players arent playing/training in futsal or worst playing very little mintues. But the best teacher is game time!

They tell you they don't know what they are doing yes yes yes he is a number 10 why is he sitting on the bench they is he playing at #2 blaa blaa blaa

Also as they have no reference point i.e no constant weekend games playing with only own academy kids v other kids - no one will ever or can question ones money spending! Remember how would an 'academy' team that doesn't have any influence from SAP/NPL go against a SAP/NPL team! I wonder if amount of hours would then tell or would the special development only available in academies win out? Funny how all the top academy products have all played NPL and/or futsal as well - never heard of the star solely developed in an academy!
