If only people were privy to the dealings with coaching appointments at FFA Nationals.
The average "Joe Blow" has more chance of winning Powerball.
Certain individuals who are in the loop are contacted to see if they are interested in taking a team and then asked what team would they like?
Pretty much on the mark aren't I, Mr Tim Tam...

I disagree about Sydney kids not good enough to make FFA Teams. Most were not invited to trial as they didn't have the right contacts in that system. Instead they decided to join a cheaper more local Nationals. My friends son's team won their age group at the AFA Nationals . They were a very talented experienced group of kids who gelled but also came up against very competitve teams . Their parents didn't want the hassle of expense and travel so went for the local option What age group are we talking about here? Why didn't the players club nominate them for the trials? What Sydney club do they play for?

I have no idea why none of them were nominated. Each club could only nominate two players and they were all in very strong PL teams so maybe that is why? ?? Not exactly sure of what happened there but they were all missed by the system. What age group are we talking about?

If each club can only nominate 2 players per age group, then you know that the players nominated will not always be the best.

Excuse my total ignorance, but how can you possibly have 2 sets of nationals for the same sport? Niether can be called true nationals. It's about time people from both camps put their petty jealousies and pecunary interest to one side and thought about the players, not the $$$$'S or the bragging rights.

It's not up to me to expose who they are so I will be keeping their details confidential. Shouldn't be too hard to find though if you look on the AFA website. Marj, the sole point you raise is why players weren't invited by your club to trial for FFA State teams. It has nothing to do with looking at the AFA website... Jabrack has asked you twice about which club are you referring to! I'll asked a question, have you asked your club why? If not it seems you don't have the "balls" to vent your grievance to them but are happy to post it here. Stand up for what is fair and equitable for all instead of sitting on the fence and getting splinters in your arrssee... If you don't ask, you'll never get an answer... Stop your whinging and do something about it... Sick of you dancing around the real issue... which club?

If each club can only nominate 2 players per age group, then you know that the players nominated will not always be the best. You get invited to trial if: 1. You are a previous Lightning or Thunder player 2. The coach asks you to trial based on State Titles form 3. Your club can nominate another 3 players to trial Bottom line, there is ample opportunity to be invited. If the club failed to nominate 3 players then take it up with your club. In my own sons age group I can honestly say I have not seen one players that should of been given an opportunity to trial, that didn't get one. I video every PL club, every age group, a minimum of 2 times a year, and have done so for the past 7 years. If anyone truly believes their kid didn't get a go, then send a private message to me with their club name, age group and shirt number. If they are a PL player then I can look at their video. If they play SL and made Grand Final past 2 years, I also have their video. I am happy to give an unbiased assessment.

You as one person should not have the hide to make professional assessments on fellow players. It's not your call to make!!!!! What a right royal "Nark" and "Whinger" you are... You'd whinge if Santa Clause was late... Ever heard of ballet, take your son or daughter there...

Cutting the talent pool by limiting player invites. All premier and super league players should have the right to attend. Also uncontracted players who have played in either league in the last two years - in my humble eyes only. Yes 2 Field players that are at that level plus keeper But if you have more players which are also at that level I'm quite sure you can also nominate them as well, if you ask the question & are fair about it ! That is up to the coach & club to be pro.active & support players that are serious about it ! Also players that have previous made state teams are auto selected on top of the club nomimations So the stronger teams that you are talking about Marj should have little problem about having players trial ! Like The Dark Lord suggested, you should address your club if you have a problem !!

I give up 18 hours of my time each weekend to provide service to my club, its kids and their parents. I also make these videos available to any other player or club that asks at a cost that barely covers my costs for the media. Last weekend I gave video to 3 games to the UTS coaches and made a loss on the cost of media. I have also loaded games free of charge to YouTube for other clubs many times. Their are no Privacy Laws broken whatsoever. Not only am I an accredited FNSW Photographer, but its totally legal for me to video the games I do. I do not video players to make an assessment of them! I am offering to give up my time, free of charge to do this to any parent that REQUESTS it of me.
