VIDEOING other people's kids to make an assessment on them should not be allowed for privacy reasons. I actually dislike your club doing this. You as one person should not have the hide to make professional assessments on fellow players. It's not your call to make!!!!! Bit off the topic but, Marj get a life !! jabrack does so much for futsal in terms of media presentations for the club he is with & every other club is always welcomed, he is a gentleman. What do you do marj ? Maybe take a back step & think about it !!! Welcome back Space, I've missed you... How's things shaping up for outdoor... Thought you may have been a Spartan in 2015...

Looks like the ACT might be represented by the Boomerangs as an 'invitational' team if negotiations are completed successfully.

No wonder Capital Football had little interest from players to come all that so very very very long way to Sydney.
The player levy was $1650plus per player not including shorts socks or playing strip.
Our family has been going to Canberra from Sydney for Nationals for the last 4 years and we have not spent that much on any week for the family.
Capital Football obviously have a political agenda here.
Congrats to Boomerangs. Futsal players get to play.
Up yours CF

I have no idea why none of them were nominated. Each club could only nominate two players and they were all in very strong PL teams so maybe that is why? ?? Not exactly sure of what happened there but they were all missed by the system. I am not sure why you continued past the first 4 words of your post. They accurately summed up your position. Having attended many trials and both Futsal "Nationals" over the years I almost always find it amusing the SPIN that some people can put on things. Yes a club can nominate more than 2 if they choose to. In addition to GK and previous Thunder and Lightning players who get invited direct from FNSW even if not playing this season. Clubs often try not to nominate players they might feel are not ready yet who have virtually no chance of selection in order not to waste their time or negatively affect their confidence. They may be ready next year to trial. The AFA Nationals is all about filling overseas trips which are extremely profitable. Last years winning teams were comprised mostly of players who did not make Thunder and Lightning and some teams played 2 years or more above their age in order to have some competition. Some interstate teams could improve their performances by simply learning some of the rules of the game. Not that they would be excluded from a AFA Nationals team if they had the money.

The draw is now out. The change from Canberra to Sydney seems to have worked with most age groups having 7-10 teams from a good spread of states, all except the 23s which has been combined with the Youth - no surprises there that the 23s age group hasn't worked. It is also good to see some NSW Country teams back in the younger age groups. Are they Southern or Western or a combination?

I think so. Although I don't have last year's draw at hand going off memory every age group has seen an increased number of entrants or at the very least the same number. Best example is the 12 girls having 8 teams up from the 4 to 5 teams of recent years.

Cheers! I think you're right. I've just looked at the girls, and I can't recall having Adelaide, or 2 teams from Queensland, involved for a long, long time. Good stuff :-)

It might not have looked so healthy if the organisers had not let Boomerangs, Adelaide Force and NSW Country enter teams, which would not have been allowed in recent years. Great to see 8 teams in U/12 girls though and hopefully no late withdrawals. I hear there's a possibility of a withdrawal in U/14 girls though.

Bigs, I coached U/12 Girls Lightning last year...there were 5 teams...Thunder, Lightning, ACT, QLD Metro and Victoria, so yes the 8 this year is much better value... Whilst I liked going to ACT, it is easier for the other States to get to Sydney in regards flights, so it may have played a part in the increase...then again it is more expensive to stay in Sydney, so who knows for certain...

That proves my point that the change has helped as FNSW aren’t taking the hardline approach that was previously taken and are being more receptive to giving different regions the opportunity to play. With FNSW being hosts they would have had more clout in getting the Country teams back in (Victoria have also entered a couple of Country teams). BTW, Adelaide Force are the same SA teams as before, the last couple of years they had the Adelaide Force logo all over their uniforms but weren’t allowed to use the name by FFA/Capital Football.
