I'm sure it is 13-15-17 Also heard that at State Titles now no team outside the PL/SL format will be able to enter this year.

Define "format" do you mean registered with SL or PL clubs ? Correct. Only teams registered to play in SL or PL can compete.

Breathe in...........breathe out..........breathe in..........breathe out
Why even bother having a State Titles if this is the case?
FNSW you definitely suck.

P/L and S/L teams should not be in it, let's leave it to the local competition club sides to get games against people they normally do not compete against. They are doing a version of that in January.

Doesn't matter RYB. It still does not make it a State Titles.
Why not just pick the top SL team and PL team from each comp and get them to play and declare a winner?

Given that last year every grade was won by a PL team EXCEPT the U/12 Girls which was won by Sutherland (SL), then I don't see why it isn't a 'real' State Championship without non SL/PL teams. Not sure you could even find a semi-finalist in the juniors that were non SL/PL, though I have not had time to trawl the entire results. This format is the same as outdoor. You don't have club teams competing in State Titles... For this one I don't believe FNSW deserve to be bagged...

Well RYB, all this will do is free up some time up for SSFA which have attended to other associations/clubs participations in State- you wouldve thought the intention would be to promote & spread the sport of futsal, we dont think it will create the desired effect for futsal at large.
State Titles 2014 is completely inconsistent to what FNSW do with the schools Futsal State Titles, AND for that matter 'Regionals'. So, FNSW have decided that 'Regionals' prior to State Titles is not a goer as well. May as well do away with Nationals too!
Smacks of elitism in futsal ranks. No wonder FNSW is disenfranchised from grassroots. We already have rival indoor soccer/futsal associations again as well as independently-run futsal-like competitions in this state. We dont believe 1 person is making all the calls & the rest of the board nod their collective heads. Whats going on?

I wasn't saying that the change was totally correct, but that it was consistent with outdoor. I have no personal issue with non SL/PL teams competing, but not totally sure how it develops grass-roots to play at that level if they are not up to it, but good luck to them. The other new tournament, the State Cup, is also a great idea, and again builds parallels to outdoor, where Club teams compete in the State Cup/s. I also don't get your reference to SSFA...there is plenty of community development efforts from SSFA....so not sure what that has to do with State Championships. Anyway, glad that the format from last year is restored and I trust this makes you a little happier today.

Why leave it for the prima donnas? Theres a few of us who have enjoyed the challenge of facing the top tier futsal players with a squad of players who look after each other & play as a team. Makes State Titles that much more interesting & enjoyable. 'Champion Teams do actually compete when facing 'Teams of Champions', sometimes even defeating them! They call it "Boil-overs"!

Every local centre team I have seen at State Champs in the past 6 years has been smashed.
I see the State Champs as a good preseason hit out for PL and SL teams. Also a good opportunity for SL teams to test themselves against PL teams and sometimes beat.
But local centre teams? Where is the upside?

There were clubs with SL teams that got smashed in their own FNSW S/L competition last year, where is the upside there by allowing those players to play, obviously they are not worthy or good enough according to your way of thinking Your view comes across as elite snobbery. Doesn't a small part of the local centre player registration payment go back to FNSW as an affiliation fee, if it does those teams and players have every right to enter. Finally, I vaguely recall, wasn't there a local centre boys team from the Gladesville area 3 or 4 years ago that left plenty of egg on the faces of over inflated egos from P/L and S/L clubs, in one of younger age groups cant exactly recall what name they played under but i'm pretty sure it happened.
