My club received from FNSW an email with an attahed template form to nominate players / triallists for the various age groups; mind you there is no mention of any trial dates... Oh, the email also states that should a club have any queries to contact William Tan at the FNSW office: dates and times of trials may become a FAQ, just quietly...

Following a discussion last week at the Capital Football Board meeting regarding the capacity to field teams in the National Futsal Championships (NFC) in Sydney in January, it has been decided that the ACT will regretfully not be able to participate in any divisions other than the Athletes With Disability (AWD) division for the 2015 edition

You'd get more interest at a National Dodge Ball tournament than this dog's breakfast...

Definitely not worth going to watch if ACT are not fielding teams.

Agree George, this is the point that gets under my skin from there statement. When the FNC were played in Canberra, players, coaches and families from Canberra were not necessarily required to take a week off work or be distracted too much from their school holidays. They could attend and participate in games as required, however, the change to Sydney won’t allow that to happen. This is not the same for players from inter-state Federations who are used to travelling away for the FNC

Just goes to show how little it means to most... Once again a few with agendas making decisions for all... The only thing I will say is MT did flag it last year or maybe the year before, that ACT were considering pulling out at home I believe.

Capital Football have spat the dummy big time here and one must question their real commitment to Futsal. However, the FFA Nationals have been on the slide ever since the Vikings/AFA moved their National competition to Sydney and even Sydney-based players in regular FNSW competitions decided to play in the Vikings Nationals rather than represent NSW at the FFA one. FFA has to take a lot of responsibility here; remember the survey many of us took at the nationals several years ago? Well I understand that the results have only just seen the light of day and they are quite damning !!

There was a festering dispute between Capital Football and the ACT Mens team in the 2014 Championships over fees which almost embroiled the Women's team as well. The men were not happy about paying so much money for so few games given the change of rules about the composition of the tournament.

But have not seen anything like this in the boys/mens ranks. The only male players I know who went to Vikings nationals weren't good enough to make the FNSW teams. Back on ACT not entering teams, Id love to know what is going on. In the F-League 2014, ACT entered 2 teams (Capital FC and Boomerangs). To now turn around and not go to the FFA Nationals at all is crazy.

How anybody can call it or consider it to be a "National" tournament when there are more absentees than acceptances is beyond comprehension...
If it bordered on being a waste of time and money before now, this certainly confirms it is...
