It means "ABANDON SHIP"!
The first casualty of relegation is loyalty.

Now what happens is Apia will dump most of their squad and source out NPL1 experienced players. The Mariners will attempt to keep most of their squad but most of the players will trial for NPL1 first and then come back if they aren't successful. The Apia coach may or may not survive depending on who he is related to. The Mariners coach has to remove all the knifes from his back and recover first. The Mariners coach is now an outcast and will probably have to leave the country for a couple of years. No doubt the Mariner club officials and some players are blaming the coach for the relegation. If the Mariners coach had a son in the team then it's entirely his son's fault for the poor season.
