Can i just confirm is the Youth "C" licence the minimum requirement for coaching SAP and NPL youth or just SAP?
Also if anyone who has done it do clubs pay something for coaching the kids or its just purely out of your pocket expense.
Asking for my son who is interested in potentially pursuing a SAP / NPL team in the near future.
Any thoughts on the course etc...any comments would be helpful.

thommo
let me help you there. The youth C licence IS the minimum requirement for SAP and youth up to 16's. In regards to clubs paying, well this is a minefield of differing thoughts. Most clubs i know pay their coaches. Now don't expect much but can range from $1000-$8000. For SAP coaches on the higher end of the pay scales is usually based on experience or may have their own kids in the system. The course is very good and if he's open minded to learning he'll get a lot out of it. Without going into all the curriculum hogwash the course does create a framework to coach in terms of preparing for sessions. My best advice would be for your son to look around different clubs now and see what their programs have to offer and observe the TD and how he/she interacts with his/her coaches. Don't be fooled by big name clubs being well structured based on their senior squads either.do the research. good luck
