Just heard that the NPL1 futsal finals weekend that was originally announced to be played on the Australia Day Long weekend has now been changed to the week before?? So now you've got some people that either didn't and now can't book a weekend away on the long weekend because of Futsal or the ones that planned around that weekend and booked the weekend prior.... Which now means they miss out on the finals. Why announce a date and then change it weeks before the end of the season? And while we're on the topic... Why have a season that ends in December and several weeks later, play the finals in January once all the boys and girls are unfit and in holiday mode? Who makes these decisions?

Fnsw does not care for the sport. The sooner we break away the better. As for the finals, how are the kids suppose to play a grand final on a Sunday when some of our outdoor clubs have trial games on. Think about what we are doing to these kids and their parents.

My son's first season has been this one and I think we have both enjoyed it. I particularly like the much closer access to the playing area, you do get a much better view of proceedings. The best team in 16s, Vipers, are tremendous to watch and play a particularly instinctive style of futsal, bred from many years of playing together. I think it is an excellent game for developing close touch skills and faster thinking.
I do think it's a shame the way the finals are being run, but I also understand that FNSW's main product is the outdoor game and it's pretty clear that futsal is much more for the players and I am yet to see particularly sizeable crowds. Probably for the best I guess aa most of the facilities aren't set up to take many spectators.

I have heard that for next years futsal season their will be an extra double header weekend to allow for semi finals and grand finals to be played before Christmas. Not sure if anyone else has heard this but I think it would make a lot more sense.

Not sure if anyone else has heard this but I think it would make a lot more sense. That's option Number 2. We are pushing for the NPL1 season to start a week earlier as option Number 1 but yes, season finish before XMAS is ideal and looks like its definite possibility with the shortening of the outdoor season. NPL2 to start as is and play their GFs at VSP also.

It is only a 16 week period if you include each game on its own weekend so if a double header was required im sure clubs would be happy to accommodate it.

The words "Clubs" and "Happy" should only be used together with a negative.
