What is everyone’s thoughts on the Review sent out today?
Changes way I understand it.....
They have abolished the state league completely or it appears that way.
State Titles Gone!!
12 Boys and 13 Girls don’t count towards Club Championship.
Competition length much shorter with about 4 double header weekends.
If I understand it correctly.. what now for state league clubs that have invested time and money starting a club, to now not having a competition??? 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

Why do you think it is? Cost cutting measure?
Surely the state league clubs covered their costs?
As canning state titles, what a pity

As canning state titles, what a pity Anyone that says clubs, whether they be Futsal or Outdoor lose money simply don’t preach the truth. The old losing money myth has been floated around forever and is a load of rubbish. Just because a club executive member might say they do, doesn’t mean they do. The only way to determine this is to review audited financial club records. Easy to win the lottery than get these. In the case of Phoenix Futsal Club the record keeping there and mandatory compliance of financial records lodged with the DFT is non existent. Nobody would know what the truth is until they submit. Funny thing is Phoenix Futsal Club haven’t submitted anything way back to June 2012.

Simple math - with court hire @ $120 per hour no one can “properly” run a Futsal club and break even.

Can’t make a profit if Executive Committee members are skimming off the top.

If the owners or committee members are skimming, they are skimming the profits. If a club is losing money, they are doing something wrong.

Send me your spreadsheet model....you are either guessing because you've never seen a futsal P&L or you have some abnormal revenue items....like charging players $1k.

Rego fees aren't your only revenue stream. There is canteen and sponsors revenue. There is no single club to my knowledge that does not have a second revenue stream.
But even without, I'll roughly work it out for you on a per team basis with 10 players per team.
Team revenue $7000 ($700 per player) court hire 14 rounds training $2450 court hire 14 rounds matches $1960 court hire for trials $500 Kit $700 Referees fees $600 Rego fees $400
This is for a premier league side assuming they train once per week on a full sized international court. An academy side has similar revenue but much lower costs which adds to the bottom line.
What am I missing ?

Phoenix is one club that doesn’t pay their coaches.

There are only a handful of coaches being paid across the board and equipment costs would be no more than $100 per team.

Add a few pre-season training sessions & presentation night and there's no surplus. Revenue: canteen next to nothing, most centres take that and what they don't is minimal. Sponsors...good luck surviving off that.
Futsal doesnt work financially...!!

Every club has at least 1-2 players per team that clubs have trouble getting payment out of. If we had to stick to no pay no play by 1st game, clubs will be forfeit games cause not enough players. Clubs need to consider parents pockets too as they have been hit hard with outdoor fees so can’t put prices too high either to accomodate loss of fees.

And you won't have full 10 players in every team....average 8 per team. Just lost $1,400 per team there.
