Pretty sure the game will be more remembered for MasterChef judge George Calombaris discussing where and what to eat later on that night with a Sydney FC fan.
Not a good look George.

If that, "lifting of the standard", entails more teams playing like Sydney, I can see myself watching a lot less A League next season.

As soon as Victory made the final we knew what was coming. A player who was a complete grub his entire career will only become a coach who is a grub.

The Grand Final was never going to be a footballing classic on that playing surface. Given that surface, Muscat's tactics almost gave them the title. For the purists out there, I can't see the A-League improving that much. We're still the poor relation to other sports with regards to TV money, suitable stadiums etc and our most promising players will seek their fortune overseas. It's also full of 'plastic' franchised teams but at the end of the day it is what it is and you either embrace it or just sit at home watching the European Leagues on pay TV !!

It will lift to a good standard but how long that will take I don't know. Harping on about it and complaining won't help especially by those on this forum who are pork chops and have no idea. Those type wilt away as soon as they realise junior is no Beckham or Messi. Then, the next generation of pork chops come along and it all starts again.
