It's time for COERVER coaching skills are needed in Australia - Mark Viduka pointed this out as many are scared to go on national Tv and admit this, FNSW need to do something quick, the race horse effect is not working, skills win you games just ask Japan.

Coerver may be fine to compliment other game based training but on its own it doesn't teach someone how to play.

Mark Viduka, where has he been?? LOL
He must have got a shock watching the Japan game and then come out of the shadows.
Australia do not have the cattle in the senior team. Full stop.
It has been going to happen for the last 8-10 years.
An extremely mediocre focus to generate a new broad base of talent by FFA/FNSW/Clubs to replace the last successful team is coming to fruition.
Lucky Australia has a good coach to cover up the mess for a few more years!

A coach is as good as the players he has at his disposal. No players, bad coach. Good players, good coach. We have very few players that can play at that level at the moment. Things will change though. Maybe not for a while.

Ha the golden generation....they only performed in one World Cup and were terrible in the next. Golden? ....nah, more like amber!! Coerver, now there's a blast from the past. A decent coaching system that started well out here but then got shafted by SNSW's money grabbing mismanagement of the games 8 to 10 years ago - for which we are still paying the price. As for what you say Tarzan, I don't agree with statements like 'golden generation' - they are media generatated and plain silly. The 2006 team and the players in it were a very gifted bunch - and the majority of the 'stars' were produced by the the NSW of the 1990s. For a nation like Australia getting to a World Cup finals, and then the last 16, was a huge achievement. Realistically Australia is never going to best in the world - and I often think that's why the general Australian physche is hard on football as - unlike drug ball, rugby union, cricket, netball etc where it is best in the world or thereabouts - the Socceroos are never going to be at that level. And the current crop of Socceroos, where there aren't many from NSW, aren't at the same level as the 2006 teams.

In fairness some of the Coever stuff was brilliant and also the coachs were all able to demonstrate, I'm Talkin PB , TJ , OG and KB , up to 10/11 years old this was Majic for the kids . Nowadays you go and wath a SAP training session and you would be hard pressed to find a coach that knew a step over from a Von Basten ! They can all recite chapter and verse off the ciricculam though.

Yes, though they can tell you a lot more about body position, looking up, the importance of one and two touch, game sense, asking questions rather than giving answers, playing your first touch forward, receiving with your back foot, etc, etc. You didn't need to know much about the game to teach tricks and flicks outside of a game and to convince kids that the best player was the one who could juggle the most.

You have no idea what you are talking about , you think you know it all but as dfined by your dribble/ ciricculam inspired quotes I sugest a pen pushing position would be suitable.
