State league I predict Taipans to be promoted & Sutherland for the wooden spoon I am sure you are throwing it out there as a stir...BUT...
Happy to wager you on the wooden spoon SOP... Given SSFA are already 31 points from last spot after two rounds, and the team running last has played 2 rounds as well, it is a huge call... PM me if you are wanting in on the bet...

Anyone know how the club championship is going so far? I see after 2 rounds fnsw havent done it yet this season. Is it a magic vs majic battle for it again? I have it as Vipers 32, Majic 30, Majik 30, Rovers 29, Uts 28, Warriors 25, Quake 19 and Pheonix 14. I expect the top three to be Ma gic, Vipers and Dural followed by Ma jik and Rovers then UTS and Quake and last place goes to Pheonix. I should clarify The top three in any order, the next two Rovers then Ma Jik (after last weekends results), the next two either way around and Pheonix last.

Phoenix need to pick up points big time - 4 rounds in and looking a good thing to finish bottom

Very tight race this season with club championships in premier league. Big turn around with top 3 being magic, enfield and dural with less than 3 points between them. 2 poor rounds from majic and they have dropped significantly.
State league no one predicted sce but after 4 rounds they have still held on to top spot with taipans 13 points behind with a whole round behind (bye). The state league is stronger this season with not as many clubs as previously getting smashed each round. Still early days but its looking like phoenix down and either top 2 going up.

Good analysis mrgray I agree PL much tougher at the top - Enfield have been a big mover this year and Majik are a bit of a surprise as well - thought they would be more prominent I see little hope for Phoenix surviving Initially I thought Boomerangs would figure in SL but I think it will come down to SCE or Taipans as Champions. Having watched a few Taipans games on the weekend, they have good strength across all grades. It could very well come down to the SCE v Taipans clash Your point about closeness of games in SL is true as well - we are not hearing about the blowouts in scores as we did in the past

Some interesting results on the weekend. Some clubs picking themselves up a bit.

I heard there was another brawl involving Sydney City on the weekend with police being called. The game was between Syd City and Sutherland. Don't know the details. But as far as I am aware it is not "another" involving Sydney City? The same cannot be said for the other club.

A fight also broke out at state titles where spectators tried to get involved. Only the quick intervention of the officials prevented it from escalating. And yes Sutherland were involved in something similar last season but this time they weren't the aggressors.

All clubs have their fair share of fights.
What gets me is the fact that more often than not it is done in front of kids. They don't need to see grown men and women(and some not so grown) fight because they can't handle their own tempers.

Sydney City do have form over the years though.....but to their credit their committee works hard to eliminate it.

I wonder if the "New" Sydney City Silverback got involved in between puffing on cigarettes...

I wasnt there but heard 4 or 5 of sutherland players received a yellow card while sce received none during the game. The fight broke out in last minute of game when a 16 boys player was pushed to the ground twice by a sutherland player. Sutherland then refused to play mens game and influenced the referee to cancel game as their mens team was made up of 3 men and rest all youth. Not to mention the youth coach is serving a suspension so not exactly best role model for the boys.
If you want to bring up state titles 2012.... No sce players from 2012 are in youth team. I know sutherland have at least 2 still playing youth from 2012 state titles. I was at state trials yesterday and no one was shocked to hear sutherland were involved. I know there are 2 sides of story but given sutherland history with yth im believing what i heard.

Would also like to make the point that in the 2012 State Titles game between SCE and Sutherland there were no fights by players or spectators of either side. Basically the game was very rough, it got away from the refs and the Head Ref decided to abandon the game.
