I would be angry about this happening. But before going after FNSW(yes they have to answer as well) I would be going after Sutherland. The kids(supposedly because I don't know them) have paid their fees to play, yet Sutherland have not paid their bills which is why this has all happened.

Think it's not isolated to Sutherland, the 16 boys game did not go ahead yesterday because West City Crusaders were disqualified also

It still comes down to the clubs though bindi. You can only blame a small part on FNSW. In the long run it is the clubs taking the players fees.

Thanks all for filling me in.
If all the parents in each team - Sutherland and West City Crusaders in this example - have paid their fees then why has the club not paid FNSW then?
The comp started in October so surely any outstanding parents fees would have been paid by now otherwise the kids would have been benched by the club or even kicked out of the teams. So the onus should be now back on the clubs.
Shame that the kids travel to the semi-final games - and U12s are early in the morning - have their win and then are disqualified. Shame.

Maybe ask how much money Sutherland are paying a certain FNSW coach in their club.
I doubt if this coach is doing it for the "love" of the game.
Free rego for seniors as well could be a factor

How does doing this pay for bills? If a kid dosnt pay and he is benched, this only pushes him to drop out, take gear and run so club is then left with no gear, no money and a player short.
Im not blaming fnsw, but think fnsw should be doing more to help. This season clubs had less than 1 month to approve regos so clubs were forced to accept rego without payment. When weeks turn into months and the kid still hasnt paid, what does a club do? Like i said, punishing the kid ( when i say kid i mean unfinancial players) does not pay bills. Fnsw used to help clubs even at end of season by making players unfinancial stopping from participating in anything for fnsw. This worked but it was too much work and fnsw have gone easier route

Maybe clubs need to start saying that fees MUST BE PAID within 2wks(just an example) or the player is not registered and needs to pay before he/she is registered. Maybe clubs need to start charging ALL PLAYERS. If they don't want to pay, get someone in who will. People keep whinging(yes I have in the past) about FNSW, but in this case it is not their problem. The unfinancial aspect and therefore the forfeits, is solely the clubs problem. You cannot tell me Sutherland did not know about the unfinancial state before that game, so they would have known what would have happened. They more than likely hoped FNSW would let it slide and not punish the kids.

Fraser, FNSW can only make a player unfinancial if he/she owes FNSW money, i.e. state team fee or academy etc or the club the player is registered for asks FNSW to deem the player unfinancial because he/she owes the club money and that means that the player is unregisterable for both Futsal and Football!... FNSW invoices the clubs for the number of players registered to play P/L or S/L as a whole. The onus is on the clubs to pay for that invoice. How they get the money from the players is not FNSW's concern. I am not defending or criticising any party here, just saying how the system works. Should FNSW have taken action earlier? That's a different point for discussion...

No doubt there were any number of deadlines given over a period of time and Sutherland failed to comply. On this rare occasion, I'd have to side with FNSW on this one!!! Can't believe I writing that. I'd punt the entire Sutherland committee on this.

Whats fraser?
Have you ever been on the committee as a treasurer? I did it one year many years ago and refused to do again as i felt like a failure. No matter how many times you ask a player for fees, send reminders, offer payment plan, it becomes stressful and even more stressful when your getting reminders from your own crediters.
Its even harder on the players that are above average, it causes problems with coach as he refuses to stand player down... Like i said i will NEVER do it again even if they paid me.
Im not involved with sutherland or crusaders but know the stress they are probably under, even more so this week with teams in Grand Final, what happens then if not paid up? 3rd team qualify? What a mess... Agree VOR, should have been sorted before finals, if havent paid then cant play.
Coincidently both unfinancial clubs have a coach with reputation for expecting payment, if rumours are true then all sympathies for them are out the window.... Sorry

If one doesn't pay the registration for their car, then it is unregistered.
If you drive it unregistered and get caught, don't come crying.
Sutherland were aware of it and the shitteee has hit the fan.
Yes, I do feel for those innocent parties.
The Sutherland Committee should immediately tender their resignations and if there is nobody to take over, so be it, club goneski!!!
Can't have irresponsible people left in charge when money is involved.

There is still a process for listing a player as unfinancial. The onus is on the cubs to prove they have made reasonable attempts to recover the funds. If this is done, then FNSW will list them. One of these steps is to stand the player down. If the club keeps playing the player, then all bets are off.

Everyone is assuming its unpaid rego fees? And that players haven't paid?
Lots of other fees/fines clubs have to pay FNSW. Sometimes these are disputed as well. I hope FNSW made there position clear before the finals. After SCE were docked all first round points it should have been clear to the clubs that FNSW were serious.
Feel very sorry for the kids involved.
