Snipey? First they say you need to play in the State C'ship, now it is open to just about everyone:
· Any age eligible player who represented NSW (Thunder or Lightning) at the 2013 FFA Futsal National Championships FAIR ENOUGH!
· Any age eligible player within FNSW regional programs and invited to trial WHAT PROGRAMS?
· Any age eligible player identified at the 2013 FNSW Futsal State Championships and invited to trial IDENTIFIED BY WHO?
· Any age eligible player identified in Men’s and Women’s Premier and State League Futsal competitions and invited to trial THE FIRST ROUND OF P/L & S/L IS PLAYED ON OCTOBER 12th AND THE TRIALS ARE ON THE NEXT DAY AND THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY
Also FNSW sent an email to all clubs with a template to to recommend players for each age group. Recommendations are to include players we feel should be considered for NSW State team selection with a limit recommendations to three (3) per age group by October 4th.
Please someone tell me who misses out? Just open it to anyone who is registered with FNSW... Might as well, it is already done in a de facto way!
And please do not start telling me that I must have missed out on a state coach position and that's why i appear "snipey": I did not apply, I might just go down to watch...

Im with VOR on this one. Just open the trials to anyone registered in NSW and leave clubs out of it. Like VOR said, clubs haven't seen new players play yet except in trials so how can they nominate?
I noticed a lot of clubs not participating this season, with 1D concert, NRL grand Final, family gatherings, weekend away... fnsw must think everyone's lives revolve around their stupid decisions. My daughter was going to play as she has made commitment to club but we were relieved when club made decision not to enter her team. Lucky we are going away, her age group have 3 games on saturday evening and 1 sunday before finals, what a waste of a long weekend.
Good luck to those playing!!

Dural as a club does not enter teams. Players / parents can do it if they want to, but no "Dural " name or current P/L gear to be worn...

Why if they are not allowed to use Dural in the name, is the Womens AA team called 'Dural Warriors'? Same with the U16 girls. Not sure what other teams are entered as Dural Warriors.

Because they stuffed up! Too late to change it now... They are not endorsed by the club and not paid for by the club and they can use any player they want but are NOT a Warriors team.

Any particular reason for Dural's stance on this? I'm not saying I disagree with it as I preferred State Titles as they were previously and not strictly along PL/SL club lines.

Good to see someone owning up to a stuff up.
What would be interesting is to see players join up for ST individually and then teams get made up and everyone is on an even footing. It would definitely be interesting to see how players can adapt.

By all means have an FA Cup style tournament, knockout, on Wednesday nights for P/L & S/L teams: names and venue out of a hat (maybe seedings for the top 4 P/L teams from the previous year in the first round), winners goes thru & losers go to the pub...

The ultimate winners also get to go to the pub, and for a bigger drink too...

State championships have been advertised as record number of entries....record numbers were years ago when juniors and seniors were on separate consecutive weekends as they could not fit all in 1 weekend. Every year numbers are going down.
Anyways any predictions on who will win? Who has entered strong teams?
