The 13's and 15's are suppose to be the development age for the older 14's and 16's next year What a load of rubbish !! You tell them that & see what you get ! The girls are playing in the nationals THIS year ! Development is during the SL. & PL. season ! Isn't this the national tournament for them!

The U15 / U16 girls are getting to a point where their actual age is less of an influence in their selections than their skills or their game sense.

thequietone...you are correct !!
And thanks for the clarification.
I assumed that FNSW has applied consistent rules for all Lightning teams.
How silly of me !!

Well space considering they were only going to take 1 team per age....U/12, U/14 & U/16 the girls probably would not have even got the chance to go.
I think it is a good idea taking the odd age group for the experience and development getting them ready for next years Nationals.

Ive now had a chance to watch ,selections and training and some lightning teams still have great chances of beating the thunder team ,but we will have to wait untill the nationals when the real talent comes out .Winners are grinners hehehehe

Well Snoopy,
They were not considering, but they HAD decided to only take 12s, 14s & 16s thunder teams only, till there was an outcry from clubs etc ! To many girl's were going to miss out, that's not development it's a crime ! Too many parents are not happy & too many good player's missing out that might not even bother trying next year !! That would be a shame. How can this be for the good of the game! Anyway that's my thoughts for whatever it's worth

From what I have seen youth women thunder have 3 under 16's and 1 under 15. One of those at least did not even trial. Lightning has 1 under 16. So, if younger girls are only used to fill up teams that do not have enough players, how does this work?

Nothing like picking one's own players for State teams if you are a coach.
Your loss last weekend sums it up
