Good reading .... so the only thing missing now is $$ as the passion was and is still here. With social media and internet in general, the sport would be so much bigger than than old days if given the chance with a major sponsorship like james hardie. If futsal had same opportunities now with games televised, imagine how big it could become, unfortunately with the economy the way it is, the sport would be lucky to get $10,000 to inject promotion.

Couldnt get the 2nd article. However, a well-earned CONGRATULATIONS to Daniel De Nardi who has compiled an informative & well-researched history of futsal both internationally & in Australia.
For mine, while Daniel is adhering to the practice of 'balanced journalism', these articles do not serve enough pressure on those responsible at senior Aust football level in the lost opportunities of this sport in the late 1980s & 1990s. Aust Soccer Assoc./Soccer Aust/FFA (in all its forms), Indoor Soccer Assoc., Futsal NSW & the individual state bodies who administered futsal & indoor soccer in those should collectively hang their heads in how they have failed futsal in Aust.
This should not be an exercise in blaming people, suffice to read the names of those who presided over these bodies who did nothing to promote & improve the game of futsal after such a fantastic start, which included mega sponsorship ($1m) from James Hardie- what has happened to all that $$$?? If this went in Costs of Administration, then some people are responsible for maladministration, theft & malfeasance of the game at best.
AND for the FIFA-recognised representative body for Aust FFA, to continue ignoring supporting the grass-roots of a related football sport that is sanctioned by FIFA, is tantamount to ruining both codes of the game of football in Aust.
