In the first there appears to be nothing wrong. There may be some trivial use of the arm by the defender. But he is in the dominant position between ball and striker.
In the second the camera angle is akward, as the camera man seems to follow the attempted clearance. From the clearance and resulting rebound it appears that the striker in the chase to the ball, is ahead of the defender. Whilst the keeper beats the striker to the ball... does the defender push the striker causing him loose balance? It doesn't appear that the defender has said anything to the ref. The ref appears to flash the card immediately.

There will be a send off report to indicate what the red card was for.
Artie, IMHO a better course of action would have been to send these links to the branch coach of the referee who did the game so he can be educated. I doubt this thread would achieve anything positive.

I doubt this thread would achieve anything positive. He was sent off for denies obvious goal scoring opportunity sorry to say but very poor decision. Already sent an email to see if the branch coach is interested in looking at the clips. As for a positive of course it is this is why people come in here to express their views well this is mine a I have a video to show our 18s team and clubs frustration at not one but two penalty's and a send off. The thread was never set up just to explain the laws of the game. I'm a ref as it appears you are but some branch need to look at who they appoint to youth league match and make sure they just don't appoint anyone from their branch that is will to go to youth league and not just the one that are happy to travel out of their branch. Youth league is for development of not only the players but for the ref also anyway enough said

I'm sorry, no matter how these are viewed it is clear that the decisions made were very poor indeed.

They are some of the worst decisions I have seen, no wonder coaches get suspended! They are not penalties what a joke and these referee's are able to do what they like, they should be stood down for performances like that. I feel sorry for the guy sent off clearly a victim and maybe some history involved?

WOW,
Im sorry but there has to be something " out of the ordinary" going on here.
Saints in any capacity are well withing their means to openly show this.

Sorry Artie but as i have always said..............referees are a different species and watch a totally different game to the rest of us! What is just as concerning is that he went to his Asst ref for the first penalty and the Asst obviously agreed with him! He's not even good enough for park football based on those decisions!
