Why is it so? Keepers can be carded for diving feet first at a striker, but strikers can take keepers out in many underhanded ways. Kicking arms when the ball is held on the ground, kicking them in the abdomen and head, which will often go undetected by the ref along with harrasing behaviour in the goal mouth. Do we only protect strikers and not the keepers in Australia.

keepers will be sent off for going feet first at a striker, the same as any other player on the park. Picking up strikers attacks on goal keepers is mainly due to positional play. If the angle is wrong then things can be missed. Even if the referee is in the perfect position he may not always see the same things that can be picked up from the side line.
