Ok since you asked for it. Why is it that i see so many referees being slack in keeping up with play during the youth games? I see young and very fit referees hardly running at all let alone a few sprints during the game. This is worse for the referees who have been around for a few years and the attitude catches on to the younger enthusiastic ones very quickly. Now put an assessor on the side line and see them run to keep up with play like a possessed referee Referee every game as though there is an assessor on the side line.

Actually, have watched several games recently where the ref hasnt beenpulling up players for aggressive tackles which brings their opponent down, generally should charge from behind?
Also, closer to finals time, are the refs being instructed to show greater control of games & therefore show more cards to players?

I have a question in last two games ref has told linesmen that he will call the offsides which there has been none called for two matches???

Maybe they are inexperienced. Maybe the association was short of officials and sent down 2 that are still in training. Maybe you have been smoking too much wacky tabaky, because I find it very hard to believe that there have been no offside calls in 2 full games.

It happened and if I knew why wouldn't ask thought maybe you'd know why can I question a ref for that decision regarding why linesmen not calling offsides

How do you know what the ref instructed the linesmen? Did you hear it or do you just assume that because there were no offsides called. Was level were these games? DYL? SYL? PYL? PL?...

sydneysnow, the young assistant refs were probably instructed to call the in's and out's only. Not to worry about offsides. Are you saying that the referee didn't give any offsides during the game what so ever ?

Yes ref they were asked to call ins and outs I asked coach at training and he said it was normal when linesmen were inexperienced and to answer other question yes no offsides called for two games that streak ended on wed night though

Well, in both games the teams either didn't play the offside or the attackers were angels and stayed on side. In your opinion, were there any offside plays that were not called ?

If I was honest we have a couple of boys who are always being picked up by our coach for being offside so I was surprised they didn't call them out, I know it's to our advantage but I wonder if long term getting away with it helps the player

Maybe all 3 officials were inexperienced, who knows. I know from experience that Saturdays are hard going when it comes to arranging referees. Sometimes you get stuck and you have to appoint people who aren't ready for that level. I'll tell you one thing, they have guts for having a go though.
