Will be very interesting to see if Coach " No friends" try his hand at Futsal after being punted from the long form of the game My bad, I thought DL was still commenting on SSFA. I do jump from topic to topic quite often or should I say from target to target. Admin is 100% correct on who Coach "No friends" is. The nickname Coach "No friends" actually isn't one I gave to this individual, but one that came from members of his own club at the time.

So any teams that got the flick at the pointy end of the season last year was a myth........... No, but the back-story has certainly been misrepresented and people have been wrongly persecuted. Yes it was terrible what happened to the boys, and everyone felt gutted for them, and can understand they felt rightly aggrieved. But there were circumstances and activity that were mitigating of the outcome that some did not wish to take note of. That too is understandable at the time as emotions were high, as they rightly should be when young boys have their season ripped from them for nothing they did. But given the passing of time I would expect that there is some acknowledgement of the whole story. One of the teams I coach at SSFA was almost a victim of the events, and though I would have been upset if it cost us a GF spot, I would have remained at the club because I know the truth behind the whole story. That is not to say mistakes were not made, and improvements are thus necessary, but I suggest you follow the X-Files motto and understand the 'truth is out there' if you look. Don't just listen to gossip, innuendo and defamation of people's efforts. I know that is a trait of this forum, but really, sometimes the attacks are completely un-justified, and this is a case in point. BTW I was not on the committee last season, but will be on it for this coming season, and hope to be with the club for many years to come.

If I were an official of an SL club I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of anyone at FNSW otherwise you might end up with away trips to Gosford, Wollongong and Canberra.

Futsal Premier League1. Campbelltown City Quake 2. Dural Warriors 3. Enfield Rovers Futsal Club 4. Inner West Magic Futsal Club 5. Mascot Vipers 6. Mountain Majik Futsal Club 7. Phoenix Futsal Club 8. Northside Futsal ClubFutsal State League1. Boomerangs FS 2. Botany Bay Pirates 3. Eastern Suburbs Hakoah Futsal Club 4. International Football School Futsal Club 5. Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC 6. Parramatta Pumas Futsal Club 7. Raiders Futsal Club 8. South Coast Taipans 9. Sutherland Shire 10. Sydney City Eagles 11. Sydney Futsal Club 12. West City Crusaders FC* 13. Western Wolves Futsal Club* Subject to West City Crusaders FC confirmed compliance to the Participation Criteria My preference would be to consolidate State League to 8 clubs, to avoid some of the lop sided results of last season. I do note that one team is from Central Coast so thats a positive for expanding the base of players. I wonder how many teams will decide to forfeit the Canberra round as has happened in the past? I absolutely agree with Jabrak. 8 clubs in SL is the go. After a long and expensive PL outdoor season I don't think the participation numbers are there for paying $545 or thereabouts to drive all over Sydney (and more) every Saturday in summer for a game of Futsal that is less than an hour (juniors). I think 8 PL teams and 8 SL teams is the go. Not only are participation numbers an issue but we might avoid the whole Sutherland thing that happened last year to those poor boys.

Which 5 SL clubs would get the chop then? Probably the ones that were below par on registration numbers last season would be a good place to start. Having the same players backing up for 2 or more games regularly would suggest there is a shortage of players. Got to start somewhere, suppose that is as good as any starting point. Really at the end of the day, if a club hasn't got good numbers, such as 8 different players registered for each grade, boys, girls womens & mens, then that club shouldn't be entitled to enter.

DL, That is a very good idea in theory but it loses a bit in practise. If that criteria is used every year then you will lose clubs every year and end up with no one. Some clubs will struggle next year in one or two age groups and they will be gone also. Clubs that get punted this year probably wont try for admission again. What would happen if a club had one poor registration year for one age group? Do you punt them, even though they could be very strong in all other age groups? Then, the players that have signed for the club might end up with no where to go and they get lost to the game. I agree something has to be done and yours is probably amongst the better ideas but is still fraught with danger.

Which 5 SL clubs would get the chop then? I wouldn't chop clubs but put them in a different league and get promoted to state league and bottom of state relegates down, same with premier league. Having clubs going a whole season winning handful of games all season throughout whole club obviously need to be in a division of their own with clubs at same level. Keep the clubs involved and keep the state league draw as home and away so no advantage/disadvantage. Eg: Canberra play mt druitt away, mt druitt have not only home advantage but canberra are travelling 3-4 hrs to their game. Following week syd city play canberra in ACT, so canberra have the home advantage and not travelling 3-4 hrs so likely to pick up more points this round than vs mt druitt. Because no home and away, Syd City would be disadvantaged over mt druitt
