Keep hearing different stories in regards to age groups for next season. Does anyone know if the female comp will still be 12s, 14s, 16 s or are they changing it to 13s, 15s, 17s as in outdoor. I know this might be a dumb question as I'm sure that even FootballNSW don't know themselves what they are doing!!!

I have heard from multiple sources that they are changing the girls age group to be the same as outdoor, however no concrete evidence for this.

Has the premier league/state league declaration come out yet? The Futsal Premier League will see eight (8) clubs playing in home and away matches and competing for the coveted prize of being crowned the 2014/15 Premier League Club Champions. The Futsal State League will see thirteen (13) clubs competing for the title of 2014/15 State League Club Champions, along with the right to gain eligibility for promotion into the Futsal Premier League for the following season. The 2014/15 Futsal Premier and State League Clubs are: Futsal Premier League 1. Campbelltown City Quake 2. Dural Warriors 3. Enfield Rovers Futsal Club 4. Inner West Magic Futsal Club 5. Mascot Vipers 6. Mountain Majik Futsal Club 7. Phoenix Futsal Club 8. Northside Futsal Club Futsal State League 1. Boomerangs FS 2. Botany Bay Pirates 3. Eastern Suburbs Hakoah Futsal Club 4. International Football School Futsal Club 5. Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC 6. Parramatta Pumas Futsal Club 7. Raiders Futsal Club 8. South Coast Taipans 9. Sutherland Shire 10. Sydney City Eagles 11. Sydney Futsal Club 12. West City Crusaders FC* 13. Western Wolves Futsal Club * Subject to West City Crusaders FC confirmed compliance to the Participation Criteria Entry to both Leagues is dependent upon the criteria relating to the Football NSW Limited competitions being met by each club, including confirmed access to compliant facilities. Football NSW Head of Football Phil Brown along with Football NSW Competitions Manager Troy McColl have been delighted with the process of both competitions and both believe that the new season will bring more entertaining Futsal in what promises to be an open competition for all involved for the 2014/2015 Futsal season.

Girls age groups going up one... To keep in line with outdoor or is there a Futsal specific reason?

The main reason is probably to line up with the outdoor age groups but I think it is a good move. The 12s has usually been a tough age group to find players so maybe the extra year will be beneficial. Hopefully it will allow clubs to retain and develop the teams they had last year and having 17s compensates for the lack of a youth age group and eases the step up into the open womens.

My mail tells me one particular Grand Final winning team last season will struggle to have many of its players returning to the club again this year.
Interesting to see which club will benefit from this .....

That's a shame considering the good reports I hear about you. The club I was alluding to is a PL club! DL I always see it as a positive if the players move on to a higher grade. In the case of these girls, it was more to do with their own talent then anything I did. They were already great players before I started with them last year. Shame to lose them, but always get encouragement from me to try their hand, and where possible I am happy to help find the right club for them. Happened with Saints WSL 12s from last year that I had as well...2 now playing in PL1 with Stingrays, and 3 in PL2 for Olympic.

So very happy for all of them...but with two other departures there are plenty of spaces available for any girls who are interested. My captain will be a girl who played in the winning NSW Lighting team, and I have two others who have played at this level for a while, so not a bad base to start from. Anyone with any interest, please PM me.
