I agree Sigma. The one thing about the old forum was you got to say what you thought and whilst that might have upset some people it was their viewpoint and you had the opportunity to reply with your argument/opinion. I think its a fine line (as moderators) to judge what has gone over the top and what is still a valid point of view. I would even go as far to say that the standard imposed on this new forum is the standards that the moderators think is fair and reasonable. That might not be my standard or yours BUT you have to post within those standards.
As long as there is no racial vilification, identification of kids (unless they have been named by FNSW on their website/newspapers etc), sexist comments and unnecessary abuse of my football team, i think what remains should be fair game. I would hate for this forum to become so heaviliy moderated that it just becomes a chat room with forum buddies who all share the same point of view. To me, a forum is a place to comment on anything really but primarily football related subjects and the occasional bit of biff between grown ups who have opposite points of view is healthy as long it doesn't degenerate into a slanging match.
I like the comedy and the banter that goes on. I like to stir people and get a reaction. Take our friend in the West for example............Ballboy. I know he's a referee. I know that if i post anything remotely insulting about those dearly loved, cheeky larikins in black and white he will bite. So i post something insulting and he bites and i laugh and i will wind him up but at the end of the day it's nothing personal and if the truth be known, i have a lot of respect for the officials.
I personally think that the forum is operating fine and the only thing that is missing is a bit of controversy to get tongues wagging but it will come. ;D ;D ;D
