Perversely, at the margin, it could mean more opportunities for boys here who have English passports. But of course it's about a lot more than that, the European project is at real risk and Brexit is probably just the first chapter in what could well be a period of tumultuous political, economic and social change.

I can understand why over 50% of the Brits voted that way but I don't know if it will workout the way they expect it too. The EU was a very good idea ruined by inept and corrupt politicians. The social problems that might arise from this are a real problem for all in Europe, not just GB. It could possibly affect us as well. Time will tell.

Actually only 37% or so voted out - total turn out was a touch over 70% (about 72%), of those 72% 52% voted out or about 37%!!!! Statistics are great in the wrong hands

Irrespective, those who voted, voted to leave in the main, for better or worse.

haha kicked out of euro twice in one week now all you poms may stop thinking you know anything about football And even at halftime after being down 2-1 the English commentators were still saying England were favourites to win the game. They said Iceland has used up all their energy in the first half...and dont have anything on the bench. Ha, too funny....

I don't know if anyone had the time to watch the post match review ( Bein Sport) it was very, very interesting to see the comments from Souness about the difficulties he has encountered with players applying themselves to fine-tune their team game / tactics. If you have it recorded it is worth a look.
Also the scathing remarks from the English host ...wow!!

The English have such a high opinion of their footballers going into tournaments (who knows why?) and then are devastated at the outcomes....over and over again. They don't get that all of the influential and creative footballers in the EPL are not English!!! All Souness and co can offer is - " they need to win more 50/50s and put in more effort". When will these guys appreciate the game has moved on from the running and tackling hard game they knew so well?

When will these guys appreciate the game has moved on from the running and tackling hard game they knew so well? Yes I agree that portion of it was .....70s/80s Muscular pragmatism at it's best. Souness was one of those that could play with the ball too. The portion of his comments that I thought were interesting relates to the organisation (or lack of in England 2016 ) and players 'buying in' and spending time developing it. It is obvious the other nations have a coherent and well understood approach when they take the field. From that you can deduce that they are working together and believe it's important. England looked a notch or two below the others in this department. Further-more some of the decisions (Kane taking corners) and the lack of clear strategy (4-5-6 strikers) were less than 'world's best practice' shall we say. The sad thing ...for English football is that this has been a problem for many years now and despite the influx of playing talent, foreign money and foreign coaches it doesn't appear to have rubbed off. I feel very sad for the English football fan.
