Question. Will FNSW correct either mistake. Answer. Don't be stupid. Of course not. That would be admitting an error had been made,

Changing girls age groups Bigger disaster A sport run by a Board full of donkeys. One only has to look no further that the 17 girls in State League. 4 byes each, what a joke, no to mention the lopsided scores No wonder people aren't interested.

Moving forward With HSC,work and social activities combining at this age for girls. Clubs may need to double their 15's numbers in order to fill 17's teams. OR Could FNSW recognise the error of their ways and either go back to 12/14/16 or change 17 to youth women for next season. The nonsense argument of coming into line with outdoor pathway surely has been seen as BS. THERE IS ZERO FUTSAL PATHWAY atm with FFA. AFA is only bigger BS

Youth women sounds like a good idea.
Obviously 3 tiers do not work. Hate to say it but we may need to go back to 2 tiers and probably limit it to twenty teams. 10 in each or 8 and 12 as in the past.
The cost of running this whole thing is outrageous. I don't know how proactive FNSW is in promoting the cause to local sporting venues because they just keep putting prices up. More money to be made from badminton I guess!!!

Agreed yth women would work better.... Too many clubs struggling that age group and have for many years. Club champs in P1 and P2 looking very interesting, from all predictions the only one on right track is quake relegated. Never picked magic and majic to be middle of table still 3 rounds in, still early days I suppose. Also didn't pick raiders as a contender for p1, I didn't pick Phoenix to be on the relegation path either. Results are such a mixed bag across leagues. I enjoy reading the match reports by fnsw journo dan de nardi but I'd like to read about p2 and state league games too. In outdoor all leagues are reported on so its poor form from fnsw to not arrange for futsal.

Boomerangs and Raiders results should determine CC in PL2 If they go down the line of 3 tiers next year, I doubt there would be a relegation from PL2 with 7 teams Yes should have been a report on the 7 - 7 goal fest Pirates v Rangers in the Men's last week - very entertaining

Youth women wouldn't necessarily be a complete solution, most women's team currently are made up of a number youth aged girls, you would just be changing the age groups where doubling up occurs. Changing to 13/15/17 has seemed to at least fixed the problems clubs used to face with the younger girls and also allowed for the introduction of 11/12 girls development teams. Going to 2 tiers of 8 for me is the sensible option, quality over quantity. 3 tiers won't work in the short term. Especially when new clubs are coming from areas where there are already a number of well established clubs (i.e. Imperial Eagles playing out of All Sorts where you've already got Vipers and Hakoah playing as well as Botany Bay and Sydney Futsal Club nearby)
Having said that more responsibility and accountability should be on the clubs to attract and retain players. In some age groups the PL2 clubs seem to have better numbers than PL1 clubs just down the road. That says a lot about some clubs who always seem to be short in certain age groups.

PL1 club championship is wide open, how good is that? Majik taking 5 wins off Enfield was a big turn around on the first 2 weeks. Anyone can win out on the day which we haven't seen like this before.
Raiders look a good chance in PL2. I've heard they play their home games on a basketball sized court so that could be an advantage much like Boomerangs having a home advantage with the long drive.

Closest CC in PL for ages - totally wide open (anyone in top 6 is still a realistic chance)
Only one thing certain in PL2 - Boomerangs or Raiders. Raiders should make up some ground against the Pirates and Boomerangs have the bye.

They could go from PL 1 last season to State League next season given they are running joint last in CC PL 2. Perhaps the King of Karaoke can belt out a stirring rendition of an inspiring number to the troops before they take the court. If Phoenix do drop again to State League, it may be the END for them. What an embarrassing fall, all within 2 seasons. Hey King, Are you taking requests??? Try this one... youtu.be/VgSMxY6asoEYO, ADRIAN! I DID IT

I know what you are saying, however no club pulled out during the course of the competition proper unlike State League where Imperial Eagles have been removed from CC calculations due to no 17 girls. Whatever happens Phoenix are a spent force going forward, even with The Golden Voice of Karaoke there....

Both clubs at the bottom end of PL2 are still relatively competitive in all grades. Very few blowouts. Just missing a few players here and there to challenge better. If it remains in 3 grades the last team will probably get a reprieve. Would have to say that the Phoenix men's side will struggle to score a point based on the fact that they couldn't beat the Pirates who were decimated by a bucks night last week.
The journey back to PL1 after relegation has not been an easy one in recent history. Phoenix are experiencing the same kind of free fall the Crusaders had years ago.
