Clubs fallover because of poor governance. In the case of Sutherland Futsal 2 individuals concealed the real financial state of the club from its members. Surely if its members had been duly informed something could have been done like punting those that got the club in financial trouble.

In summary, the Futsal model is faulty. You cannot grow Futsal in this country to any decent level under the current model. It is financially unviable and it starts with too few and too costly Futsal courts.

Bar the presentation night I would spend more than all those things. Off the top of my head about 6.5k maybe a bit more went on FNSW regos. Double your figure in training costs + 50% on top of your figure for gear. Still can't add up to $60,000 I put $5,000 as I had no idea of cost of presentation, I figured $10-15 for actual trophy, cost of hiring venue and all other stuff plus launch. I keep hearing clubs run at a loss and often have to put hands in own pocket to cover expenses...... It seems to be a serious issue amongst clubs..... Is it because of players failing to pay and no support from fnsw? I hear Sutherland have serious debts and could no longer afford to keep going, how long before next club goes because of insufficient funds? No one in Futsal should have serious debts unless something funny is going on or they are poor at handling money. Sutherland have paid ALOT of money over the past few years to money hungry coaches. Money goes so do the coaches.... Im not saying thats why they are in debt but could be a reason if TDL is correct. Mr Gray if your so interested in money and costs and registrations etc why dont you put your hand up to join a club committee. Im curious to know if you ask Little Johnnys Football club where the 2.5k rego money goes. You and TLD seem to have an issue with Seniors not paying rego fees with juniors paying extra to cover them but thats what ALL football clubs do. Just FYI ALL MY SENIORS PAY REGO!

That's good iswam... paying seniors... well done. I'll bet the same thing don't happen at Enfield, in fact probably the opposite, but then again the Queen of Cash Canteen money is involved over there now, so things may just be different!!!

Don't get me started on asking clubs where the money goes... Every parent or player over 18 should be provide notice of when and where clubs hold their AGM. Then those interested can attend and be provided with the clubs financials and nominate from the floor for a position within the club. All proper process in running a club. By doing this the club is open and transparent to its members.

If you have ever been involved in running a club you will appreciate the massive amount of time and effort required from many unpaid volunteers. But the focus seems to be always on the fees and the money the clubs supposedly make.

Dark Lord,You seem to know so much about Running a club and its cost, Why dont you take over Sutherland and put your knowledge to good use rather than bagging anyone voluntarily running clubs. Mr Gray, Without these volunteers running clubs, your kid/s would have no club to play for... what will you complain about next? Love to see these forums just once praise the volunteers doing their best so your kids get to play the sport they obviously love.

I agree with the clubs the regos need to be increased to meet and cover costs. What i have an issue with is the parents paying $600 + no matter which club for the development teams Under 8 / 9s /10s etc Do they even play against other development teams or are they trained in house so to speak? I can assume that that maybe two or three clubs will have enough players for the development teams at that age but no spread even moreso for girls teams? Who do they play against?

No point in having a club run by incompetent people as was the case at Sutherland.

Thommo fair question. Speaking on my clubs behalf Last season our 10s teams played more games than the PL teams with a number of double headers played on the weekends. The clubs that are running 8s and 9s will definitely have games every week. They might not all be against PL clubs as not all PL clubs have started with 8s but there will be 8 teams playing. Last season MM ran 11-12g comps and 4 or 5 clubs from SL competeted. But they played every week. It was excellent. At that age it doesnt matter who they play against as long they play. I doubt any club would charge the same price for training kids compared to having games. The cost difference would/should be lower without the game component as court hire for games as well as possibly gear would be deemed void.

Whatever it is, it will never be enough as Im worth an infinite amount to my club but at least it will make it ok if rego prices rise.
