Interesting results this weekend in the men's F-League. New club Galaxy drew with IWM and beat Vipers. Early days, but looks like Galaxy will be a contender. On the other end of the spectrum I think it will be a long seasons for Sth Bris and Bayside Pirates.

Coverage of the games from the clubs and FNSW was virtually non-existent this weekend. How hard is it to post score updates on facebook? You wouldn't have known the league even kicked off.

To be honest bigs, I didn't know it had kicked off. Show you that the marketing leaves a little to be desired.

Shock defeat for Magic in the Women's section? Not really. South Brisbane women's were strong last year. At home they are very strong.

Not sure who installed them as favourites. They have never played in the F-League before. Sure a lot of the squad was at Scorpions last year, but a lot of that squad is now with East Coast Heat too. From last years winning Scorpions team they have added some fine players, but they have probably lost more. South Brisbane finished just 2 points below Scorpions last year so they have to be considered as contenders as well. And don't discount how tough it is for teams to travel. Rarely do you have your strongest squad travelling and its a long tiring day.

Magic have assembled a very strong team but it will take a while for them to gel as a unit. I think people see them as favourites because they're the only club promoting their team. In comparison South Brisbane don't have the same level of individual talent but out of all teams in the league they have the most settled line up year to year.
The men's should be an even comp. Dural have lost a couple of stars, Magic and Heat will be wanting to knock them off, Vipers are always up there and this new Galaxy team could be a dark horse, though we'll have to see how they travel first.

Congrats to the 5 Dural women that went to Canberra yesterday for a double header and won both. Super effort!

Heat suffer their first defeat of the season to South Brisbane in the semi 3-2 ruling out an all NSW gf.

Very tight top 4 this year in women.
Whoever wins today deserves it.
