Maybe it's me but this game must be the worst standard of football I have ever seen ! 10 yrs of Alwague to produce this rubbish Can't agree with you there. Sydney played well but Brisbane were rubbish. I can't believe this insistence on playing out from the back at all costs. Sydney pressured them every time and Brisbane gave the ball away far to often. No 'Plan B' !!

Is there a half reasonable goalkeeper in the comp? That standard has certainly been pretty poor to date.

No 'Plan B' !! Its not the playing out from the back - that served them well for a few years. Its about how well or how poorly they do it...at the moment clearly they are struggling but you dont ditch the system that made you the best team in the comp.

Playing out from the back is all very well but Brisbane were taking it to ridiculous lengths last night. Arnie had done his homework and his troops perfected the 'full court press' (to coin a Futsal term) from the very start and Roar were coughing up possession left right and centre. They just didn't have a 'Plan B'

To play out of the back you need very good players. Brisbane has to rebuild, they've had a good run. As much as I believe Berisha is a jerk, he can score goals and a massive loss to the roar.

This was clearly a fluke and all I can say is that there must be massive issues in the Saudi system, given how regularly all our problems are highlighted here.

By the way, watch the offers come in for Poppa now. Crystal Palace would love him back I'm sure.

By the way, watch the offers come in for Poppa now. Crystal Palace would love him back I'm sure. As possibly the only Crystal Palace supporter in this forum (if there are others, now would be a good time to pipe up), I am actually quite unsure about Popovich managing Palace given his lack of experience in the premier league full stop. That is not to say he couldn't do it, but I would think it would be unlikely that he is given the opportunity. I would think it makes him an excellent candidate for the next manager of Australia, but managing Palace is a completely different kettle of fish. I don't know the stats, but I suspect the EPL and other major European leagues have not taken one manager who was won an Asian Champions League, there are too many risks involved with such a move and it would only be taken by a team already in trouble. If Poppa did get a gig with a championship team and proves his worth, then it may well be a different KOF, but even that will be a big move from an English team.

English PL, big deal. If it wasn't for the high quality of the players those clubs buy, most of those coaches would be coaching in 2nd or 3rd division or lower.
