There's no such thing as a famous Futsal player Plenty of famous futsal players. Try this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyiAvyhFzQAIs 2.7 million views enough? Closer to home we have Tom Rogic - former Futsalroo and now signed with Celtic.

Imagine how good he could have been without the hammering his body would have recieved on hard courts .

Is that the injury prone Tom Rogic...."signed" but doesn't play with Celtic? Well he did pick up a groin injury at Celtic. He attempted to play throughout it both at Celtic and Victory, while trying to make the World Cup squad. He has had an operation (that he was trying to avoid) and is now back at Celtic and trying to break into the starting team. Tom is one of many top level Australian footballers who have strong futsal backgrounds. Take Aaron Calver, the youngest player to ever play for Sydney FC. Played futsal right up to signing with Sydney FC.

JB why are you wasting your time with these people?
They are right! Why would you rather play on a flat futsal surface with no pot holes or uneven surfaces.

Indoor football is going the same way as Lawn Bowls , centres closing ,participation rates dropping . Parents are better informed now days than 10 years ago when all we had was indoor comps run by FNSW Now there is choice , all the SSG centres that have opened and that are far more user friendly to parents and kids , those same parents and kids that 5/10 years ago would be running around Sydney on a sat avo to play 10-15 mins on a rock hard surface.

Well I can tell you for a fact that Mountain Majik's local comp numbers are going through the roof. SSG is a great game and for sure will help players develop.....not as much as futsal IMO. The other issue is SSG has no elite player pathway in to the AFC and FIFA.

Dural Sport and Leisure Centre = 238 teams in the Summer comp raging from 6's to over 35's - That does not include the Premier League teams and Academy competition on Saturday mornings...
It is also quite possible that the increase in numbers is being matched across Sydney.
I guess we all see things the way we want to see them...

If a sport provides a good structure, facilities, communication and value for money, people will more than likely join and play, provide rubbish and you'll get sweet f--- all.
A good product will always outsell a inferior one.
