The one at Valentine Sports Park is girls only and organised by Mountain Majik. Dural runs a mixed one at Dural. I'm not sure what either place charges to enter a team but I doubt we would enter if it cost $2000 per team. Then what is the $400 fee for? rego and insurance $50 gear $70 training $50 left with $230 with approx 8 players, that's how I did my sums

$230 by 8 players $1840 8 clubs by $1840 total $14720
Unless Vsp are charging $500 an hour for court hire and referees,
Someone here is making a nice profit.
It's no wonder there has never been enough girls.
Fnsw should be running this, charge kids rego and $5 a game, watch how many girls sign up
$400 IMO is too much to encourage girls to play

Our Academy Girls are getting exactly the same playing gear and weekly training time as the girls in 13's.
My understanding is that they will play 2 or 3 games each Saturday morning. I don't know what Majik is charging to enter but our Academy is paying $100 less than the girls playing in the State Competition. And they only have to go to one venue each week. I've been told we are covering costs only, all the way along the line, and I believe it.
Personally, I wish we could do it for free, but we don't have a Fee Fairy to help us. And why is it different for girls to pay to play than boys?
Isn't money the same no matter the sex?
Can parents with girls afford less than those with boys? Interesting thought?

Anyone from mountain Majkic want to tell us exact fee to enter ?.
Rumour is the fee is less than what western wolves are charging 1 player.
Nothing to do with boys or girls mumbler, it's proven fact that numbers are low in girls so fnsw and clubs need to introduce girls to the sport and $400 fees won't help.

Well, rather than having a Western Wolves/ Mountain Majik bashing, why don't you find out what other Clubs are charging?
At least we put it out there, up front so people know, and are trying to get girls involved. I would be interested to see what other Clubs think covers their costs?
We all have different training court costs and different gear suppliers, so the cost must vary from Club to Club. Also sponsorship would make a difference.
Obviously quite a few parents think the fee Wolves are charging is reasonable as we have players signed up.
I'm thankful Mountain Majik is organising it and we have a great coach to look after the Academy team. Glass is more than half full for me :-)

If people are referring to the SAP program Mountain Majik is offering junior players, its quite a comprehensive program. For starters the kit costs are more than double the suggested $70 mentioned above. Kits includes everything the Premier League players get (walk shorts, polo, strip, bag) plus a ball. All Jerseys are named as are the bags...none of this is cheap. On top of the Saturday games the SAP kids get 1.5 hrs training each week (for 15 weeks) from the best coaches in the country. This includes Steve Knight the former Futsalroo coach plus many other high profile coaches. All of this happens at VSP which is a great court with excellent facilities. We just finished our season launch event last night where all the kids were presented their kits by Jason Trifiro from WSW and Alesha Clifford form Sydney FC. Venue hire plus food etc all cost. Click for pics of the eventKids had a great time last night and I am sure they will learn a lot during the season. Picture is of last nights SAP training.

What amuzes me is that last season when only 4clubs tried to develop Female Futsal there was not one thread on this Forum. Last season there was no specific Female competition with Sydney Uni mainly developing by training. Majik playing against Boys due to Pumas & Dural focusing on a competition Dural were charging $1000 per team to play which primarily was boys anyway. This does not promote or DEVELOP female Futsal & yet I have read every thread on this forum & not one mention of this fact. Not one post regarding 9x clubs having to field 9year old girls in the u/12s competition, which a number of girls were injured due to playing Girls 3years older than them! Yet 18 clubs had Boys Academies & we wonder why there are no female development to provide a pathway for Girls Futsal State League or Premier League.
This year Mountain Majik are HOSTING a Female programme with every Futsal club invited to join in an effort to try & generate some development for Female Futsal. Understandably some clubs chose not too due to Valentine park being so far away. However apart from Dural who still wanna do there own thing against boys. There are now 7other Female teams who are playing at Valentine park every Saturday morning. Due to Mt Druitt withdrawing from this programme we are still looking for another team to finalise an 8 team draw. With Sydney Uni, Western Wolves, Shire, Sydney City & a u/9s Mountain Majik & a u/10s - u/11s Mountain Majik SAP team of 14girls who will train every week but will split into two separate teams for game day.
Johnno the only decent point you have made is that FNSW should be actually hosting it to ensure every club is forced to play an active role in developing Female Futsal. Likewise FNSW should run the Academy set up, so Innerwest Magic wouldn't have to organise the boys Academy & pre-Academy to ensure every clubs involvement which is Premier League only.
However Johnno you are obviously have very little understanding of costs to play Futsal. You wanna judge a Futsal club for charging $400 yet you are happy to pay $1100 for state league outdoor or $2500 for Premier League Outdoor. Yet we have to pay $70 for a small court per hour & $140 for a International court per hour. You mention $50 for training well our club trains for an hour & a half per session with our programme training & playing for 15weeks.
Mumbler your club has been asked to pay $40 per week & that includes court hire & a local referee give or take a few bucks!

Cotts,
Firstly, I'm not happy paying $1500 + for outdoor but unfortunately you have to pay to play in an elite COMPETITION. So don't compare 9-11 girls fees.
I think it's fantastic what you have done, we really do need more girls involved.
However you have confirmed in your last line, you are asking for $40 per week? Times that by 14 games.... Now that's why I'm judging them on their excessive fees. If they have parents paying those fees, good on them, but I'm sitting this one out unfortunately

But the Majik SAP program is a more serious endeavour and I actually think its great value.

As I've said before, I'm very happy Wolves are involved in Majik's Saturday girls program, and I congratulate them on their initiative.
It's great to see an entire morning devoted to the younger girls. Normally it's only the boys that are worried about, and I've got boys, so I can vouch for that,
I agree with what Cotts has said in his post. Is it ok to charge large sums to play football? No, but the Football Clubs do. It usually funds their senior teams, but people pay it without batting an eye, yet Futsal is accused of ripping people off? Court Hire is not cheap, as Cotts has already stated.
Our Academy Coach is an excellent one and the girls will benefit from his training. Wolves are treating it seriously and the girls are receiving everything that the State League players receive, as well as the opportunity to play games against other girls. They are an important part of our Club.
I can see that nothing I say will change your mind Johnno. I hope you find a more cost effective way for your daughter to play Futsal so she doesn't miss out altogether.

Unfortunately for futsal the cost of court hire continues to rise and rise. I remember when my outdoor team use to train indoors we would book a court for 2 hours and pay only $5 each, now you would be paying at least double that or more.
