Queensland is not sending a Women's team, only Youth Women, so it could be a 3 team comp...oh dear :-( Could be quite embarrassing for FFA then.....but do they care?

Why do I get the feeling that there hasn't been a lot of thought put into this whole situation

Last years players plus players by invitation this is sensational and moving in the right direction, best of luck to those picked, you deserve the spot.

Common Wheelie, you're smarter than that, when have they ever really considered "Women's" needs in the beautiful game?

No it isn't the right direction beetson. As I said before. If the coaches are PL, then how the hell are SL players supposed to be seen? There is a lot of talent in SL. All this is going to do is make the teams basically the same with maybe a few minor changes.

Why bother having state titles at all? Just like outdoor state titles it is said to be a pathway, yet it isn't really.

Admin, look at the score board, majority of last years teams are winners, as long as the individuals are improving with the right attitude then why change them. I said it was in the right direction I didn't say it was perfect, better then every tom loves and harry that wants to trial turning up with their half full bag of tricks only to be embarrassed on the court once selected. Why you would not simply pick players from the State Titles to at least be invited to trial makes NO sense.

So you are assuming(and we all know one should not assume) that the state coach has seen each and every team that played at state titles play. That sort of process is so flawed it is not funny. If you want to do invitation only, ask each coach to pick a certain number of girls from his team to trial. Or have the selectors watching games during the season.

Every system is flaw to those not selected. I believe your process maybe the way FNSW leaning or heading towards. Not announcing coaches before state titles is insane.

No, not every system. Although FNSW seem to have the monopoly on it.

Club coaches have or will be asked (by their club) to nominate players (limit 2 per age group) they feel FNSW should consider for State Team selection.
I have been asked by my club, and for the record, I coach a SL team and FNSW have offered me a coaching position, not the age that I currently coach.

Thanks Iceman, sounds good, definately heading towards merit based players in thunder and lightning teams. Best luck with your choices iceman and always favour the better, be true to yourself.

Why are last years players necessarily the best? Everyone should be seen by the coach so they can best choose their team Anything otherwise is bullcrap

If a coach changes then structure then style may change so who is to say that the incumbent player is the best choice for the new situation. Kids chosen by previous coach would have been selected on a playing style and may not be able to adapt.
