Having no refs would cut the costs to clubs by not having to pay for them and also there would be a huge saving in red and yellow card fees. Games would start on time as we wouldn't be standing around idly waiting for the crows to come out of their inner sanctums. There must be other good reasons to get rid of them. List them here.

I agree with you 100%.
All players should be fitted with a wristband that send an electric current through their body should a foul be committed.
The more serious the foul, the stronger the voltage.

Reason no. 147: If there are no referees then there would be no referee abuse.
There would be one problem though... who would the players and the coach blame for losing the game?

Interestingly have we ever watched a training session game without a ref and noted that the players gracefully acknowledge their own fouls etc etc???

Good reason number 2 the crowd attendance would be boosted by the arrival of the local police by about 10cops for each game. The reason it would be good they might buy something to eat from the canteen.

Yes, excellent thread, as previously stated less costly for the clubs with no ref fees and now bigger crowds with the police means selling more cevapis and chilli, everyone wins. ;D ;D

Should start another thread: Are parents necessary for the game?
